Creating a Media Moment

School Solutions Network – an initiative developed by facility safety company Status Solutions – partners with law enforcement and other community resources to improve the safety of school facilities, regardless of a school’s financial resources.

As Safe Schools Week approached in October 2018, Geben developed an approach to leverage the timely moment as an opportunity to showcase the unique features of the technology Status Solutions provides to school districts.

Geben approached Westerville City Schools, a local school district that had recently implemented the School Solutions Network, to host a media walkthrough during Safe Schools Week to showcase the technology and success of the program.

Geben media coordinators managed media logistics, prepping spokespeople on talking points and mapping the walk-through and experience. The media walk-through offered the community a first-hand look at the safety and security challenges within schools and gave insight on how other districts can replicate what Westerville had already implemented.

The response to the event was overwhelmingly positive with results secured across all local TV stations including WSYX/WTTE, WCMH, and WBNS.

The media secured during National Safe Schools week all incorporated Status Solutions’ key messages, focusing on how the technology improves school safety and the partnership that Status has developed with local area schools.
